I located the birds the evening before on April 30th so I knew where they had roosted. I got to my spot at 4:30 a.m. about 200 yards where I believed they would be. At about 5 a.m. I heard my first gobble of the morning in the pines right where I put them to bed the night before, but it was immediately followed by a gobble much closer to me. As the daylight started coming in, I could make out a bird strutting the tree line, I realized I had gotten in way to close! What really saved me was the bird that was further away came down out of the roost flying into about 60 yards to my left. The one that was originally closest to me went over to check him out. I originally thought I would have the shot on the closer bird, but once I noticed the second one had a double beard I knew I had to take him instead!

My second Tom of the season, Minnesota and Wisconsin tags PUNCHED!

-Kyler Krob

It was the last day of the season that my tag was good for, and I wasn’t able to put much time in the woods the previous weekend-and when I did there wasn’t much action at all on my property. About 1:30 came around and I couldn’t get it out of my head about burning that tag, so I headed home to give it one more chance. By the time I got home it was 2:15 and I was heading up the driveway when I saw a hen towards the neighbor’s property. I got my gear quick and grabbed one hen decoy and headed in that direction. I got to about 80 yards from where the hen was and let out some long, drawn-out yelps and had gobbles fire right back about where that Hen was. I snuck down the hill and was moving in real slow on the trail when I caught a glimpse of some strutting Tom’s on the neighbor’s property. I quickly hit the deck and crawled to set the hen decoy up and then back tracked to a tree for some concealment. From there I let out some sequences of cutting and yelps and had the tom’s firing back instantly every time. They were still on the neighboring property but slowly coming into the decoy. I shot the neighbor a text for permission to hunt these Tom’s on his side in case I couldn’t draw them in close enough to cross the fence and he gave me the go ahead after a few minutes. I crawled back towards the fence line and got to a knee when I saw the group of toms at about 15 yards coming in. I picked out the closest one with the clearest opening and took the shot. The gobbler was on the ground by 2:28pm. It was a fast paced and action-packed hunt that was an absolute blast!

This was my first Tom using GRUNTLIFE calls since I launched the business last fall, which made the hunt even more meaningful.

I headed north to Ontario for the first big fishing trip of the year. After a good long snowmobile ride into the camp we got set up and started fishing for Lake Trout, with no luck on Lakers we decided to chase after some Walleyes. It wasn’t too long before we were pulling beautiful Ontario Walleyes through the ice! After a while I hooked into this big girl! Had a fun battle before getting her through the ice! A quick tape job measuring in at 27 inches and one quick photo and she was back swimming strong in the water!

Love catching these big Canadian Walleye!

The fellas headed to South Texas for their first ever Hog hunt! We had a blast knocking down hogs as a crew! Adam and I were able to take a few down with our bows, and let me tell you, that is no easy feat, those darn hogs just don’t stop moving! Looking forward to another adventure with a good group of friends again, this was definitely a trip I will never forget!

Texas is AWESOME!

Opening morning success! I was able to punch my first ever Wisconsin opening day buck tag! This is a deer that was extremely frequent in the mornings on a new piece of permission property I acquired late this fall (2025). With no real target buck on camera in Northern Wisconsin this year this buck seemed like the perfect one to chase for rifle season. By 7:15 a.m. I was calling the wife celebrating! An awesome morning in the woods, and certainly a day I will never forget! And a big shout out to my brother for helping me drag this guy out of the woods, it was THICK!

Love the tradition of rifle season with family!

The hunt for this buck first started on October 11, 2025. I was sitting at a buddy's house during our duck camp, that’s when I received my first photo of him. I was so pumped that I finally had a shooter to go after! The next 7 days I hunted hard morning and evening, but he seemingly disappeared. After a long sit of only seeing does on October 17th he showed back up an hour after daylight. I just knew I had to get back out the next day. I sat until 10 a.m. and had only seen does, so I got down to get lunch before heading back out. A half hour into “prime time” the does around me started going crazy, I wasn’t sure what to think until I heard two grunts. And then my heart started pounding like crazy and I couldn’t stop shaking, I quickly grabbed my bow and got ready. He slowly came in and all I could see was rack, I knew it was him! At 23 yards he stopped and gave me a great opportunity, double lung and he didn’t go 50 yards!

My biggest archery buck to date!

A solo trip to the great whitetail state of Kansas! This is a buck I called “Dagger” A beautiful main frame 8 with an abnormal point coming from his right base. This buck was the first mature deer I had seen in daylight on the trip, and it happened on day 4 of 5. Worked his way out of a sorghum field 150 yards away to 17 yards! The Grunt Life call brought him in, and the Mathews and Rage finished the job. A truly epic hunt on a solo mission to tag my first Kansas whitetail.

What a dream!
